Saumitra Vihar Yojna is a plotted township of UP Awas Evam Vikas Parishad (Awas Vikas) on New Jail Road, beyond Gosainganj in Lucknow. It covers about 560 acres; Phase 1 has 2,092 residential and 169 commercial plots. Public registration had not opened by 30 Sep 2026.

- Developer: UP Awas Evam Vikas Parishad, not LDA.
- Rate reported: about ₹2,500 per sq ft; earlier reports ranged from ₹2,200 to ₹2,700.
- Registration: expected in the first week of November 2026, per a report of 28 Jul 2026.
- Launch: set for 15 Aug 2026 and later reported for 21 Sep 2026; we found no report that either launch took place.
- UP RERA: an application was reported in early Jul 2026 and approval later that month. We have not yet seen the registration number on up-rera.in.

What is Saumitra Vihar Yojna?
It is the first plotted scheme of Awas Vikas in Lucknow in many years, built on land pooled from farmers. Saumitra is another name for Lakshman, after whom Lucknow is traditionally named.

Is Saumitra Vihar part of LDA IT City?
No. It is an Awas Vikas scheme, while IT City is an LDA scheme to its north, between Sultanpur Road and Kisan Path. Both sit in Mohanlalganj tehsil and both village lists include Mohari Kala, which is why many websites mix them up. Registration, rates and rules will come separately from each body. Where exactly is Saumitra Vihar?
Reports place it on New Jail Road beyond Gosainganj, around Mohari Kala, Sithauli Kala and Sithauli Khurd. Mohari Kalan village sits about 1 km from Kisan Path.

Awas Vikas had not published a layout map online that we could find by 30 Sep 2026. Check upavp.in for the brochure once registration opens.
What will a plot in Saumitra Vihar cost?
Using the reported rate of about ₹2,500 per sq ft, and the earlier range of ₹2,200 to ₹2,700:

This is land price only, on reported rates. Corner and park-facing charges, freehold charges and stamp duty (7% for a man, 6% for a woman, plus 1% registration) will add to it. Final rates and the size list will be in the Awas Vikas brochure.
When will Saumitra Vihar registration open?
The last dated report, on 28 Jul 2026, said registration would open in the first week of November 2026 after UP RERA approval. The launch has moved many times:
- 13 Jan 2025 (planned), then April 2025, then September 2025, then 1 Nov 2025.
- 15 Aug 2026, per a report of 28 Jul 2026.
- 21 Sep 2026, per a report of 17 Sep 2026. The event held on 24 Sep 2026 launched only LDA's Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar.
Keep the registration amount ready but do not pay anyone before Awas Vikas opens registration on its website. If you want to buy this year, LDA's Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar are open till 24 Oct 2026.
Who can apply?
Eligibility, reserved categories and the registration amount will be set in the Awas Vikas brochure. A report of Jul 2025 mentioned a relief for ex-servicemen. We will update this section when the brochure is published.
